Munjal Shah, the visionary entrepreneur behind Hippocratic AI, has announced that the company is partnering with over 40 healthcare providers, health systems, and digital health companies to beta-test its cutting-edge large language model (LLM) powered products. These nondiagnostic services, such as chronic care management and post-discharge follow-up, aim to revolutionize the healthcare industry by improving access, equity, and outcomes.

Hippocratic AI, co-founded by Munjal Shah in 2022, is leveraging the recent advancements in LLM technology to develop a specialized healthcare AI model. The company has prioritized safety and effectiveness through a rigorous testing program. It is ready to collaborate with partners like Memorial Hermann Health System, the University of Vermont Health Network, Fraser Health, and Side Health to gather valuable feedback from healthcare professionals.

Hippocratic AI’s LLM focuses on voice-based, patient-facing, nondiagnostic tasks, setting it apart from general-purpose LLMs like GPT. By curating the training set and incorporating feedback from healthcare professionals, the company aims to build a more focused and accurate model while minimizing the risk of “hallucinations” or inaccurate statements.

The beta-testing phase will concentrate on low-risk services such as chronic care management, post-discharge follow-up, and wellness assessments. The beta will validate the technology’s accuracy, safety, and ability to integrate into existing healthcare workflows.

For example, calling a patient to provide preoperative instructions or following a procedure for post-discharge checkups.”

Munjal Shah and Hippocratic AI believe their product can enhance patient engagement and education, facilitate more frequent outreach between provider visits, and improve patient outcomes while making care delivery more efficient. Feedback from front-line healthcare professionals will be instrumental in refining the product evaluating criteria such as conversational ability, medical accuracy, script adherence, empathy, and listening skills.
